Route map and notes.
Super soggy around Heronswood Mere. Demanding ascent from north M23 up Ockley Hill. Much of outward leg follows Pilgrim's Way , and well signposted. ⚠️No footpath along War Coppice Road (strewn with the bodies of pilgrims mown down by speeding traffic). Watch for right fork down from Gravelly Hill (weak GPS signal under the trees). ⚠️Steep gradient thereafter down deeply channeled path. Squelchy across the Reservoir Bogs into Godstone.
